Melissa
Office Manager
Melissa has been a part of our team since 2007 and serves as our Front Office Manager. She’s here to help with anything from financial options to insurance and treatment questions, ensuring every patient feels informed and cared for from the moment they arrive.
Outside the office, Melissa loves spending time with her family — including her six children and growing crew of sweet grandbabies. She also enjoys exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest through traveling, hiking, and boating. You may even see her two dogs, Lucy and Stella, around the office from time to time — they love greeting patients just as much as she does!
Andi
Front Office
Born and raised in the Thurston area, Andi has called Oregon home since childhood. She joined the Thurston Family Dental team in 2021 and brings with her a wealth of experience in dentistry, having worked in the field since 2007 as both a Front Office team member and EFDA assistant.
Andi loves the close, family atmosphere of our office and takes pride in connecting the needs and wishes of our patients with our staff. Her care and attention to detail help ensure every patient feels valued and heard.
Outside the office, Andi enjoys spending time with her family, visiting the beautiful Oregon coast, and—when she can—taking a trip to her favorite place, Disneyland!
Melanie
Front Office
Born and raised right here in Oregon, Melanie is the bright smile that welcomes every patient who walks through our doors. As part of our Front Office team, she ensures each visit starts off smoothly and with a friendly greeting.
Outside the office, Melanie enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and her beloved Yorkie. She has a love for travel and adventure, always looking forward to exploring new places and creating lasting memories. Her cheerful personality and warm energy make her a joy to be around, both for our patients and our team!
Chelsie
Hygienist
Born and raised in Oregon, Chelsie joined our team in 2016 and has been a valued part of our dental family ever since. As a Registered Dental Hygienist, she’s passionate about helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles and making a positive impact on their oral health.
Outside the office, Chelsie loves spending time with her kids, family, and friends. You can often find her outdoors — camping, enjoying the river, or soaking up the sunshine while creating new memories on their adventures together.
Rocio
Hygienist
Originally from Talent, Oregon, Rocio moved to Eugene in 2020 to pursue her career in dental hygiene. She graduated from Lane Community College in June 2022 with her Associate of Applied Science degree in Dental Hygiene and is passionate about helping patients feel comfortable and confident in their smiles.
Outside the office, Rocio enjoys spending time with her two children and boyfriend exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest. She loves hiking local trails, discovering new restaurants, and making the most of all that Oregon has to offer.
Danielle
Hygienist
Danielle began her journey in the dental field as a dental assistant — an experience that inspired her passion for patient care and led her to pursue a career as a Dental Hygienist. She is dedicated to making every visit as comfortable and positive as possible while helping patients achieve and maintain healthy, beautiful smiles.
Outside the office, Danielle enjoys spending time with her husband, her high school sweetheart. She loves cooking and experimenting with new recipes, as well as spending time outdoors — whether it’s hiking, biking, or simply soaking in the beauty of nature. These hobbies keep her balanced and energized, allowing her to bring warmth and enthusiasm to every patient she meets.
Jennifer
EFDA Assistant
Jennifer grew up in a dental family and is the daughter of a retired dentist, so caring for smiles has always come naturally to her. She has been a dental assistant since 1986 and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team through her many years of continuing education and patient care.
Jennifer loves connecting with patients and takes pride in helping them understand their treatment options while creating a comfortable, positive experience every time they visit.
Outside the office, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her two boys, cooking, and entertaining friends. She also loves hiking, traveling, and especially going on cruises to make lasting memories with her family.
Dakota
EFDA Assistant
Born and raised in Springfield, Dakota joined the Thurston Family Dental team in 2022. Since then, she has grown tremendously in her role and recently earned her EFDA certification, allowing her to expand her skills and continue building her career in dentistry. She takes pride in helping patients feel comfortable and cared for throughout their visit.
Outside the office, Dakota enjoys spending time outdoors and being a proud dog mom. She’s also busy planning her upcoming wedding in beautiful Alaska and is excited for all the adventures ahead!
Meet Dr. Daryl Fedak, DDS
Dr. Daryl Fedak graduated from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in 2000 and soon after moved to Oregon to begin his career. In 2002, he settled in Thurston, where he helped build a dental practice for a larger company. Two years later, in 2004, Dr. Fedak purchased that practice and established Thurston Family Dental with a vision to provide personalized, patient-focused care in a welcoming, family-friendly environment.
For more than two decades, Dr. Fedak has proudly served the Thurston community. While the practice’s roots run deep in the neighborhood, in 2014 Thurston Family Dental moved into its new, state-of-the-art facility—just steps from the original office. This move allowed Dr. Fedak and his team to blend their long-standing commitment to personalized care with the latest advancements in modern dentistry, offering patients the comfort of familiar faces along with cutting-edge technology.
Dedicated to excellence, Dr. Fedak continues to pursue advanced education in restorative and implant dentistry. His training allows him to provide comprehensive care, including full-mouth restorations, dental implants, and nitrous oxide sedation. Under his leadership, Thurston Family Dental became the first practice in the Thurston area to introduce low-radiation digital X-rays, reflecting his ongoing commitment to safety and innovation.
Outside the office, Dr. Fedak enjoys spending time with his family and taking them on adventures—camping, hiking, gardening, traveling, and cheering on the Ducks. Family is central to his life and his philosophy of care, which is why he specializes in gentle family dentistry for patients of all ages—from infants to seniors over 100.
Dr. Fedak and the entire Thurston Family Dental team are deeply grateful for the community’s continued trust and support over the years. “Thank you for allowing us to care for your smiles and be part of your lives,” he shares.
